Each master specialises in a single product and works in near-silence with steel and fire, making microscopic adjustments in pursuit of perfection.

Ten product categories are designated: kitchen knives, kiridashi knives, planes, chisels, hatchets, broadaxes, sickles, scissors, pincers, and forged nails.

Each master specialises entirely in one product, refining their skill to the microscopic level through years of quiet, dedicated work.

The 'Tsubame-Sanjo Factory Festival' launched in 2013 draws visitors from across Japan who come to witness the artisans' extraordinary precision first-hand.
