What is Takumi no Te?

Japan has inherited countless craft traditions, each shaped by the unique materials and techniques of its region, originally created as everyday household items. Among them, Niigata Prefecture is home to 16 designated Traditional Crafts across 13 production areas — second only to Kyoto in the nation.

For more than a century, masters have passed their skills hand to hand while always striving to surpass what came before. MASTER'S ARTISTRY (Takumi no Te) is a series of promotional films that draws close to the hands and techniques of 16 present-day Niigata artisans, introducing each craft to the world.
